Grants in aid
of the Colonial Revenue distinct from these

sums required for the maintenance of the Diplomatic and Consular Services in China during Periods.
I believe you
still continue under the
impression that separate accounts had been kept of the Grants alluded to, but no such Abstracts have ever been discovered either by
Mr. Caine or Rennie. They
may
form part of those documents you inform me Mr. Caine had removed from the Treasury on relinquishing office, still the Duplicate should have been found in the Auditor's office where they were discovered.
